The Value of Good Reputation

What we often don’t equate is just how valuable and how closely connected our reputation is to our ability to generate revenue for our company or income for ourselves.

Reputation precedes revenue.

Reputation Has Value

In our research studying organizations from across the globe, looking at all sorts of individuals across many different industries, we stumbled across a very interesting finding.

Very unexpected.

It’s probably something that you’ve never thought about, and yet it is one of the most critical things that you can understand for your business, and that is this.

Reputation precedes revenue.

We all want more revenue.

We are looking for ways to make more money or we’re looking for ways to make more income.

But what we often don’t equate is just how valuable and how closely connected our reputation is to our ability to generate revenue for our company or income for ourselves.

Reputation precedes revenue.

Build Your Business on Your Good Name

It makes sense when you think about it because in order for someone to do business with you they have to know about you.

They have to like you.

They have to trust you.

They have to want more of you.

And a lot of that is connected to reputation.

So, here’s the question. If we spend all of this time thinking about how to grow revenue, how to make more money, how come we spend almost zero time thinking about our reputation?

How are we perceived? What do people think of when they think of us?

And even beyond that, if we spent time thinking about that, what are we doing about it?

What are we doing to create a rock-solid reputation? What are we doing to make sure that people know what we are capable of and that they are aware of the fact that we can be trusted?

What are we doing to protect and build and strengthen our reputation?

Because, if we are strengthening and protecting and building our reputation, then guess what is happening as a byproduct?

We are building revenue.

Reputation precedes revenue.
