Struggling to Stand Out? This Sentence Will Change Everything #145

It’s unbelievably hard to identify your own uniqueness.

Not because it isn’t there (believe me, it is!) but because we’re too close to it.

We’re stuck behind our own eyes, so consumed with how WE see the world, that we don’t pause to consider how the world sees us.

If you’re struggling to find your uniqueness, I’m going to share some insights that will steer you closer to uncovering what makes you you.

How to Find Your Uniqueness

We spend so much time evaluating how life is happening to us that we forget to ask the deeper question: how are we happening to others?

How are we showing up?

How could we best serve the people in front of us?

Most of us can’t answer that on our own.

That’s not a flaw.

That’s human.

But it’s also the reason so many of us stay stuck, unsure of what makes us truly stand out.

You’re Most Powerfully Positioned to Serve the Person You Once Were

This is the heartbeat of what we do at Brand Builders Group: helping people uncover the one-of-a-kind value they bring to the world.

And through years of working with now 600 people, everyone from bestselling authors to high-performing entrepreneurs, we’ve discovered a simple truth:

You are most powerfully positioned to serve the person you once were.

Think about it.

The challenges you’ve overcome aren’t just random hardships.

They’re training grounds.

Your pain has prepared you for your purpose.

Look at Lewis Howes.

When we started working together, he wasn’t fully clear on the problem he solved, even though his mission for greatness was crystal clear.

Through our process, we uncovered it: overcoming self-doubt.

That’s what he had to conquer again and again in his own life.

That’s why he can help others do the same.

His message became magnetic because it was rooted in authenticity.

Or take someone like Dr. Josh Axe.

His message: “Use food as medicine.”

It’s both powerful and personal because it came from his mother’s battle with cancer and his determination to heal her naturally.

Your Past Holds the Clues to Your Purpose

Take Brené Brown as another example.

She didn’t set out to become a world-renowned speaker.

She focused on solving one problem: shame.

And her solution was vulnerability.

She didn’t chase influence.

She chased impact, and the influence followed.

When we work with clients, we don’t just hand them a generic brand strategy.

We help them connect the dots between their life story and their life’s work.

That’s where your uniqueness lives: in the details of your journey.

If you’ve ever felt like the people who “made it” have something you don’t, let me stop you right there.

I used to think the same thing.

I grew up in a trailer park with a single mom, assuming that success was reserved for people with more connections, more talent, more… something

But here’s what changed everything for me: the realization that the world around me was built by people who are no smarter or more special than I am.

They just took action, even if they were afraid.

Do It Scared

You don’t have to wait until you feel “ready” to find and amplify your uniqueness.

One of the most powerful lessons I’ve ever heard came from a firefighter rescuing a woman in a burning building.

She was frozen, afraid of heights, refusing to move.

He didn’t try to reason with her.

He simply said:

“That’s okay. Do it scared.”

Do it scared.

Because courage isn’t the absence of fear, it’s taking action in spite of it.

And if you’re feeling that nudge, that whisper that says you’re meant for more, maybe it’s time to stop ignoring it.

Maybe it’s time to get clear on what makes you, you

If that resonates, we’d love to help.

At Brand Builders Group, we’ve walked hundreds of people through this exact journey.
